The index of the Karachi Stock Exchange, the largest stock market in Pakistan today, increased by 0.58% or 231 points, and closed at 40289 points.
A total of 15876,168 shares were traded in 361 transactions. The market capitalization of 161 companies rose while 177 shares declined and 23 companies settled.
Transportation companies, commercial banks, chemicals, communications and technology companies gained positive trading on the stock exchange.
