The UAE and Morocco are discussing strengthening strategic bilateral relations and areas of cooperation and joint action

His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, paid a working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco, during which he met with His Excellency Aziz Akhannouch, Prime Minister of Morocco, and a number of ministers in the Moroccan government, in the presence of His Excellency Al Asri Saeed Ahmed Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco.

His Excellency conveyed – at the beginning of the meeting – the greetings of the leadership, government and people of the UAE to the brotherly Kingdom of Morocco, the leadership, government and people.

During the meeting with the Moroccan Prime Minister, His Excellency stressed the solid historical relations between the two countries. The discussion also dealt with ways to enhance brotherly bilateral relations, investment opportunities and joint cooperation in a number of vital areas.
This visit comes within the framework of the keenness of the leaderships of the two brotherly countries to develop brotherly relations and elevate them to new strategic horizons, and work to follow up and activate opportunities for cooperation in various industrial, economic, investment, cultural, tourism and other vital fields that contribute to achieving the interests of the two brotherly countries.
During the visit, His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber met with His Excellency Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad, where the two sides discussed the latest developments in bilateral relations and ways to enhance them, in addition to a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
His Excellency also met with each of His Excellency Riyad Mazour, Minister of Industry and Trade, and His Excellency Laila Benali, Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development. During these meetings, ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of energy, renewable energy, industry and technology were discussed, and the two sides stressed the importance of continuing coordination and consultation between the two countries. about these topics.
The discussions also included the UAE’s readiness to host the twenty-eighth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in 2023, and how to unite efforts to ensure energy security and promote climate action to achieve sustainable economic development goals.
It is worth noting that the volume of non-oil trade exchange between the UAE and the Kingdom of Morocco increased during the first nine months of 2022, to reach 2.8 billion dirhams, achieving a growth of 24% compared to the same period in 2021.
