The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City – affiliated to the Department of Municipalities and Transport through the Infrastructure and Municipality Assets Sector – has completed the project to improve and rehabilitate the vehicular tunnel leading to the Al Maqta Bridge in Abu Dhabi in line with the strategic objective of raising the efficiency of managing assets, infrastructure and public facilities, and maintaining their effectiveness to enhance Attractiveness of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, lifestyle and quality.
This project is part of the general plan aimed at raising the efficiency of service facilities, developing infrastructure components, improving the aesthetic appearance of public facilities, and increasing the tunnel’s lifespan.
The project included improving and rehabilitating the general appearance of the walls of the vehicle tunnel leading to Al Maqtaa Bridge, carrying out cosmetic works in accordance with the highest quality standards, maintaining the surface components of the tunnel, installing cosmetic tiles, dyes, and more works that gave the tunnel a consistent aesthetic appearance. The project is in accordance with the sustainability standards approved by the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council.
It is worth noting that the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City is carrying out – according to a continuous maintenance and rehabilitation plan – the work of developing and rehabilitating the infrastructure system in Abu Dhabi to enhance its civilized appearance, raise its efficiency in line with the requirements of comprehensive development in the emirate, and provide the best facilities and modern infrastructure.
