The Saudi Ministry of Trade and Investment (MOIC) has decided to take all legal measures against the Chinese AUX plant according to the relevant regulations after the field control teams in the Ministry seized a number of factory air conditioners (type Spelt), which showed the results of the tests did not comply with the approved Saudi standards, To the laboratories of the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality for inspection and testing.
The Ministry also contacted the competent authorities to inform the Chinese side of the necessary measures to prevent these infringing products, and in turn the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality addressed the Chinese Trade Council regarding the violations of the factory and its models.
The Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality has previously announced that it has suspended the registration of AUX products from China and notified compliance companies of issuing certificates of conformity to the factory’s products. In addition, the factory has been blacklisted and banned from entering customs outlets in coordination with the Ministry of Trade and Investment And the General Authority for Customs until the completion of the formal procedures related to conformity with Saudi standards.
This comes within the framework of the efforts of government regulators operating under the umbrella of the Saudi Energy Efficiency Program to prevent the circulation of non-conforming products and to ensure compliance with standards that fall within the scope of the program.
The Saudi Energy Efficiency Program establishes a partnership strategy and integration among its members from relevant regulators including the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Trade and Investment, the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality, the General Administration of Customs and the Saudi Center for Energy Efficiency.
