The Amman Stock Exchange index is the highest in seven years

The performance of the Amman Stock Exchange improved from the beginning of 2018 to Wednesday. The weighted index at the market value of free shares witnessed a series of gains closing at 2277 points, an increase of 7.1 percent.

The rise was the highest in the ASE since February 2011. On the sectoral level, the services sector was the highest with 6.5%, followed by the financial sector and the industrial sector by 6.4% and 6%, respectively.

The market value of listed shares on the ASE rose to KD 18.4 billion, an increase of 8.3 percent compared to the end of last year. The market value of this level reached almost 18.4 billion in September 2014.

The volume of trading since the beginning of the year amounted to 291.9 million dinars, and traded shares about 193.2 million shares, carried out through 84.7 thousand contracts.

Listed companies during this period continue to provide the Stock Exchange with their annual financial statements for 2017.
