Sharjah and New Zealand are looking to promote joint cooperation

Sheikh Majid bin Abdullah Al Qassimi, Director of the Department of Government Relations in Sharjah, discussed the relations between the Emirate of Sharjah and New Zealand and the importance of building new bridges of communication in various fields.
The Department organized a series of visits to a number of government institutions in Sharjah accompanied by Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the Sharjah Art Foundation, Sheikh Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Sheikh Nawar Al Qasimi, Director of Development, Sharjah Art Foundation and Marwan Bin Jassim Al Sarkal, Sharjah Investment & Development Company / Shurooq and Mohammed Juma Al Mashrekh, Executive Director of Sharjah Foreign Direct Investment Office.
During the visit, Fletcher Tabutu briefed him on Sharjah’s promising investment opportunities and benefits, as well as the emirate’s keen interest in culture, arts, literature and human civilization.
Sheikh Majid bin Abdullah Al Qassimi praised the level of cultural and strategic relations between Sharjah and New Zealand, stressing the importance of both sides and working continuously to strengthen relations at various levels to achieve the common interests of both sides.
He added that through this visit, we have succeeded in informing the delegation of the complementary vision adopted by the Emirate of Sharjah in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to further cooperation and openness to different cultures, civilizations and humanitarian experiences. Cooperation and coordination in a number of vital areas of common interest.
The visit highlighted the strong relationship between the UAE in general and Sharjah in particular with New Zealand, where trade between the UAE and New Zealand amounts to 2.9 billion New Zealand dollars. The UAE is one of New Zealand’s top trading partners, ranking ninth among its trading partners as a re-export center in the Middle East and North Africa Africa and the world
