The Economic Committee in Ajman looks forward to Dubai’s efforts in the growth of the Islamic economy

The Standing Committee for Economic Development of the Ajman Executive Council reviewed the efforts of the Dubai Center for the Development of the Islamic Economy during the third session of the Committee for 2019 and discussed the latest developments in the economic affairs of the Emirate and the most important economic and tourism projects and the ways of running the committee.
The session was chaired by Abdullah Al Muwaiji, Chairman of the Committee, Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Ali Issa Al Nuaimi, Saleh Al Jazeeri, Salim Al Suwaidi, Fatima Salem, Khawla Al Yasi, Committee Rapporteur and a delegation from the Dubai Center for the Development of Islamic Economy.
Abdullah Al Muwaiji praised the efforts of the committee and its role in following up the various economic and tourism projects in the emirate and the best practices and pilot projects in the country. He pointed out that the economic sector requires constant access to best practices and innovative solutions, projects and services that enhance its growth and development.
He also briefed the attendees on a comparison between the first half of 2018 and the second half of the same year. HE Abdullah Al Muwaijee directed the need to provide periodic reports by Ajman Call Center to identify the strengths and weaknesses of all sectors in general and the economic sector in particular. Abdullah Mohammed Al Awar, Executive Director of the Dubai Center for the Development of Islamic Economy, reviewed the Islamic economy globally and Dubai’s efforts in the growth of the Islamic economy and the role of the Center. He pointed out that the volume of Muslim spending on the food and beverage and lifestyle sectors reached 2.1 trillion US dollars in 2017. The growing growth of young Islamic nations has played a major role in influencing markets in terms of promoting Islamic concepts in diverse sectors, including food, Islamic banking, finance, fashion, cosmetics, family tourism and healthcare.
The Center’s vision and vision is to establish Dubai as the capital of the Islamic economy and to strengthen its position as a global center for the Islamic economy and a reference to standards and innovation in all its sectors.
Abdullah Al-Awar briefed the audience on the strategy of Dubai Islamic Capital, Islamic Finance, Halal Industries and Products and Islamic Lifestyle, and the need for Islamic knowledge through scientific research, development, educational programs, vocational training and scientific conferences. The foundations of the basic Islamic economy, business incubators for startups, entrepreneurship accelerators and the Entrepreneurs Innovation Center.
He presented the achievements of the Dubai Center for the Development of Islamic Economy and its cooperation with its strategic partners in establishing Dubai as the capital of the Islamic economy by launching a number of initiatives in the most strategic sectors.
He praised the efforts of the Dubai Center for the Development of Islamic Economy, stressing the need to strengthen partnership and cooperation between the economic authorities in the Emirate of Ajman and the Center, especially that the Islamic economy deals with various economic fields and contributes significantly to the global economy.
During the session, the attendees briefed the Government of Ajman on the indicators and strategic objectives 2021 of the Ajman Government. The second package aims at creating a competitive environment for attracting investment, building the foundations of a productive economy, and developing a vibrant society through enhancing the participation of society in building the future. Improve infrastructure and public services, enhance security and safety, and transform a distinct government by developing processes, services and promoting transformation.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in the heritage district, the steps that have been implemented and the importance of the tourism and economic heritage of the emirate. The project represents a meeting point between the past and the present and enhances the historical history of Ajman and the preservation of popular heritage.
He also briefed the audience on the initiative of “Youth Station” of the Federal Foundation for Youth and Cooperation with the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department to implement the initiative in the Emirate which provides the best opportunities for young entrepreneurs to launch their projects from different areas and start a new experience in entrepreneurship to measure their performance during their period of operation. The committee reviewed the performance report of the Ajman Call Center and its role in linking the emirate’s community with government departments. Zubair Al-Junaidi, Director of the Ajman Center for Communication with the Government of Ajman, reviewed the Center’s efforts in increasing the number of services provided and languages ​​to ensure communication with various individuals.
He pointed out that the Center during the year 2018 received inquiries, proposals, communications, notes, complaints and other services amounted to 84691 transactions, including more than 53 thousand general inquiries and 2722 reports and 792 proposals.
