Athens confirmed that 92 naked refugees had been found after they were forced to cross the Evros River separating Turkey and Greece.
On Sunday, the Greek Minister of Civil Protection, Takis Theodorikakos, considered it an “inhumane image.”
European border control agency Frontex confirmed that “92 migrants were rescued Friday” with the help of the Greek authorities, according to spokeswoman Paulina Bakula.
She added from Warsaw, where the agency is based, that “Frontex personnel confirmed that the migrants were found naked and some of them had visible wounds.”
