Dubai has enhanced its mega development projects in preparation for hosting the UAE Expo 2020 with a new package of infrastructure projects to ensure smooth traffic flow and service for future projects in the region.
The projects include the development of Jebel Ali Road to Lahab and its intersection with Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and the implementation of bridges on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road to serve traffic to and from the exhibition site at a cost of AED 1.3 billion.
The first phase of the project includes the transformation of the existing rotor at the intersection of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road with Jebel Ali Road to Lahab to the intersection of the bridge that provides free traffic in each direction. The Jebel Ali Road will be expanded and expanded through two bridges with six tracks in each direction While providing traffic and free connections to ensure smooth traffic flow from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road towards the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and vice versa, as well as traffic from Jebel Ali Road to Lehab towards Sheikh Zayed Road and to facilitate traffic from Jebel Ali to Lahab north to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. Dubai and char Jebel Ali Lehbab south to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road towards Abu Dhabi.
It also includes the construction of 27 km of roads on Jebel Ali Road to Lahab and the expansion of Jebel Ali Road to Lahab from four routes to six lanes in each direction and the establishment of service roads in both directions and the implementation of four bridges in parts to provide traffic traffic to and from Jebel Ali Road to Lahab Exhibition site.
The second phase of the development of the roads leading to the Expo site includes the implementation of two bridges on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, as well as 16 kilometers of road works. The first interchange will include two bridges with a total capacity of six traffic service routes coming from Dubai and Sharjah And other Emirates to enter vehicle parking.
Two bridges with two tracks will be implemented to serve the traffic coming from Abu Dhabi towards the exhibition and the implementation of a two-lane bridge to serve vehicular traffic from the exhibition to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road towards Abu Dhabi.
The intersection of Al Maktoum Airport will include the implementation of a three-lane bridge to serve the traffic coming from Dubai, Sharjah and other emirates, and the implementation of a two-lane bridge to serve vehicular traffic from Abu Dhabi to Abu Dhabi along with surface roads and service roads on both sides of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed
