The new public transport service in Riyadh, Jeddah will start Tuesday

A specialized national company supervised by the Riyadh High Commission for Developing Riyadh and the Jeddah Metro Company in Jeddah has recently launched the new public transport service in Riyadh and Jeddah, which will start next Tuesday. It is estimated at 3 riyals from one station to another.
In a press release issued today by the Supreme Committee for the study of this project by the Council of Ministers in its resolution No. (95) of 11 Safar 1439H under the chairmanship of His Excellency the President of the Public Transport Authority and the membership of His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development, The General Directorate of Traffic, with another special committee to provide alternative service to the bus line of the town includes the Public Transport Authority, the Supreme Authority for the development of Riyadh City, and Jeddah Metro Company.
The committee concluded its study of the financial and social conditions to put the owners of private buses in the Kingdom of its work, and counted all citizens who own these buses and actually work for this service.
The committee concluded its roles on the supply side with qualified options available according to the decision of the Council of Ministers. The options included working in the new transport project as a driver at Sabtco with a salary of a salary or obtaining a loan from the Social Development Bank if he wishes to start a new business, Taking into account the inclusion of those who are unable to drivers for state programs in social security and to those who meet the conditions.
The committee called on all concerned to take advantage of this service in the cities of Riyadh and Jeddah, and to provide government agencies based on the implementation of the Council of Ministers’ views and suggestions on the development of this service.
The Cabinet decided on 11 Safar 1439 AH to stop the civil bus services known as “the town line” and replace it with a modern public transport service in Riyadh and Jeddah.
