DEWA records a 73.6% increase in smart water meters

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority recorded an increase in smart water meters by 73.6% between 2018 and 2022, as the number of meters increased from 566,214 meters in August 2018 to 983,185 meters designed according to the highest technical standards in August 2022.
The smart meter data is managed through a secure and fully automated infrastructure, which allows automating the meter reading information for the authority’s customers and obtaining instant information on their consumption patterns, thus monitoring, managing and controlling their consumption proactively and digitally at any time and from anywhere, and monitoring the possibility of leaks to speed up reform and reduce waste, thus contributing to the sustainability of resources and the preservation of the environment
