Dubai Tourism: Partnerships with the private sector to provide a new segment of hotels for visitors from new markets … and “children for free” in summer

Issam Kazim, Executive Director of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, revealed that Dubai is working with real estate investors and developers to provide different segments of hotel establishments, in line with the increase in tourist flows, and the diversification of hotel accommodations, to serve all segments of visitors, stressing that the growth of the tourism sector and the status of Dubai As a global tourist destination, the hotel’s strong performance is an incentive to boost investments in this vital sector.

Kazim said, in statements to reporters: “We are constantly working in Dubai to encourage the private sector to invest in developing more hotels in all parts of Dubai, including the Dubai Islands region, in order to keep pace with the growing demand for rooms with the increase in tourist flows.

He added that the performance of the hotel sector in Dubai is characterized by strength, and this is what the numbers and statistics show, as the average occupancy during the current period is close to 2019 levels despite the addition of more than 30,000 hotel rooms, which confirms Dubai’s ability to accommodate more hotel rooms of various categories.

Kazim explained that the average visitor’s stay in Dubai reached 4 nights, compared to 3.5 nights in 2019, while the average number of repeat visitors is about 25%, and this percentage is considered one of the highest in the world, indicating that Dubai tourism is constantly working to raise this number. The ratio is in parallel with attracting new visitors from new markets.

Kazim said that there is continuous work with local airlines such as Emirates Airlines, Flydubai and international airlines, to reach new markets to maintain the sustainability of the growth of visitor numbers, in parallel with encouraging investors to invest in hotels and hospitality facilities to accommodate these increasing numbers.

Kazim added that Dubai adopts a strategy to maintain the sustainability of the growth of the tourism sector, which is based on the diversity of tourism markets and not relying on specific markets, in addition to the diversity of the tourism product provided by the emirate and the resulting attraction of different tourist segments, indicating that Dubai has succeeded in innovating the tourism product. Which is commensurate with the requirements of family tourism, leisure tourism, business tourism, incentive tourism, conferences, exhibitions, festival tourism, and others.
Kazem explained that during the past year, we succeeded in reaching 62 markets, in addition to 18 new markets, bringing the number of markets reached by marketing and promotional campaigns to about 80 markets, so we notice an increase in the number of visitors from new markets such as the Dutch market, and there are great potentials in the Turkish market, which It can be used more due to its size and ease of access.

Experiments support

Kazem said: We seek, during 2023 and beyond, to focus primarily on advancing growth, and supporting the many and varied tourism experiences in various fields, including entertainment, shopping and culture, indicating that the Foundation is working in parallel with the expansions of Emirates Airlines and Fly Dubai as part of its plan to promote emirate in new markets.
He added: We are working to enhance and stimulate the tourism movement annually, by launching promotional campaigns in cooperation with various agencies such as accommodation, hotels, aviation and destinations. An initiative is scheduled to be launched during the summer under the name “Children for Free”, which provides free services for children in hotels, entertainment destinations and others.

Kazim indicated that Dubai has launched initiatives to ease procedures and remove obstacles, with the aim of attracting more travelers, whether for tourism or business purposes.
He said: Dubai has become a preferred destination for the living and residence of celebrities from various artistic, sports, scientific and other sectors, as a result of the element of security, safety, stability and the high level of services it provides. Also, many of those who came to Dubai to retire turned to the investment destination and obtained an investor visa through real estate investment and others.
