Emirates has signed a deal with Airbus to buy 40 A330-900 and 30 A350-900

Emirates has announced an order to buy 40 Airbus A330-900 and 30 A350-900 aircraft under an agreement signed with Airbus in a deal worth $ 21.4 billion (about 72 billion dirhams).
Emirates will begin to receive the new generation of Airbus A330-900 and A350-900 from 2021 to 2024, respectively.
In addition, Emirates and Airbus have reached an agreement on the receipt of the remainder of the A380 order. The carrier will receive 14 A380s from now until the end of 2021, bringing the total to 123 aircraft.
“After several months of discussions, we reached an agreement with Airbus and Rolls-Royce,” said HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Air Authority.
“Emirates has strongly supported the A380 since it was planned on paper and while we are disappointed by the reduction of our order and regret that this program can not continue, we accept this fact. The A380 is a great airplane that our customers and crew love. Emirates has distinguished itself from the others and we have shown how people can travel with lasting excellence and set high standards by offering unique experiences to customers on the A380 such as the shower / shower spa / air salon and will maintain its position as one of the pillars of our fleet entering the thirties of this century As usual Emirates will continue to invest in its air products and services to assure our customers that the experience of the A380 will always be at the highest level. ”
“We are still at Emirates Airline maintaining our strategy of operating a modern, modern and efficient fleet of large-bodied aircraft, and our order today will contribute to the acquisition of 40 aircraft,” said Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. The A330neo and 30 A350s will enhance the diversity of the Emirates fleet and support the growth of our network and give us more flexibility to serve seasonal or emergency demand better and will play an important role in future plans for our fleet and network. ”
Emirates will operate its new A330neo aircraft to serve existing regional destinations and provide a smaller airport service that will allow new terminals to be added to its global route network. The A350 will further enhance the airline’s long-haul operations, Which takes 8 to 12 hours from its headquarters in Dubai.
