The UAE participates in the meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Fund for Agricultural Development

The UAE is participating in the 42nd session of the Governing Council of the United Nations International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), which opened today at FAO headquarters in Rome.
Such as the State at the two-day meeting Mr. Ahmed Al Mulla, Deputy Permanent Representative of the State to United Nations agencies in Rome, and Yusuf bin Hajar, member of the Executive Board of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) from the Ministry of Finance.
The ceremony was attended by prominent speakers including Giuseppe Conte, Prime Minister of Italy, HE Danilo Medina Sanchez, President of the Dominican Republic, HE Gilbert Angbo, President of IFAD, and Graziano da Silva, Director General of the Dominican Republic. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, HE David Beazley, Executive Director of the World Song Program, and the Minister of Agriculture of Rwanda.
The event will feature interactive sessions focused on investment opportunities, technical innovations and development challenges facing smallholder agriculture.
The aim of the session is to mobilize efforts and join together to promote inclusive investment opportunities for sustainable and equitable development for the benefit of the rural population, in order to achieve the goals of eradicating hunger and poverty by 2030.
Leaders and experts from IFAD, the European Commission, the ACP Group, the Government of Luxembourg and the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa will launch an innovative project for impact projects to promote investments in rural areas from developing and emerging countries to help small businesses grow and provide jobs.
