SCCI explore opportunities of cooperation with Business and Science Dev’t Authority in S. Korea

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has discussed trade and investment cooperation with the Gyeonggi-do Business and Science Development Authority in South Korea’s Gyeonggi-do Province.

This came during a meeting with the South Korean delegation led by Xuan Cheng, Deputy Director General of the Korean Commission, and Sang Li Sung, Head of the TRA team, in the presence of Abdul Aziz Mohammad Shataf, Assistant General Manager of Member Services Sector and Yasir Abeed Hashim, Head of Investors and Preference at Sharjah Chamber of Commerce .

The two sides discussed a number of topics related to opportunities for joint cooperation and the possibility of organizing economic events that highlight investment opportunities and exchange visits between trade delegations from different economic sectors.

The Sharjah Chamber aims to improve the level of economic cooperation with South Korea and expand its scope to include many new sectors in order to contribute to the development of the capital market and support and encourage investors.

The volume of trade between the UAE and South Korea reached 14 billion dollars, including 6 billion dollars worth of Korea’s exports to the UAE and 8 billion dollars in imports from the UAE according to the statistics recorded for 2017.

The number of Korean companies operating in the UAE is 200, including 20 registered companies in the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and 21 investors.
