Sharjah, February 12 / Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority received 3,184 applications for the connection of natural gas services during the year 2022, in addition to 4,568 applications for approving natural gas plans for residential, commercial, industrial, governmental and agricultural buildings in the city of Sharjah.
Eng. Ibrahim Al-Balghouni, Director of the Shared Services Department at the Authority, affirmed the continuation of reviewing and developing procedures and electronic transformation to facilitate customers and take the necessary measures to provide materials and requirements to deliver services on time and coordinate with consulting offices to keep pace with changes and provide the best services to residents of the Emirate of Sharjah.
He pointed out that the authority works in accordance with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, to ensure continuity of services in accordance with the highest standards of reliability and efficiency, and the shift towards advanced digital infrastructure and its adoption of the latest Technologies and service delivery.
He said that during the year 2022, 2,238 applications were received for the connection of natural gas services in the residential sector, 763 applications in the commercial sector, 136 applications in the industrial sector, 46 in the government sector, and one request in the agricultural sector.
With regard to requests for approval of natural gas plans, the Authority received, during the year 2022, 2,539 applications for approval of plans in the residential sector, 721 applications in the industrial sector, 280 government applications, 1005 commercial applications, and 23 for agricultural projects.
He emphasized that the specific standards set by the authority and the facilities it provided, coordination with engineering consulting offices and contractors, activating the strategic partnership, providing specialized and qualified human cadres to deal electronically with the masses, and continuing to develop their skills through training programs are among the important factors that contributed to the completion of transactions accurately and efficiently, saving time and effort for dealers. .
