Recent data issued by the Japanese government showed that the birth rate within the country and among the Japanese decreased abroad by 5.5% during the period from January to June of this year compared to the same period last year. And the Japanese “Kyodo” news agency reported that the data showed that the number of births fell to less than 400,000 for the first time since 2000, in light of the impact of the Corona pandemic. The number of births in the first half of the year indicates that the annual rate is on the way to decline below the 811,604 births recorded last year, and below 800,000 for the first time since data began to be counted in 1899.
