Dubai, February 23 / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, “may God protect him”, witnessed part of the “Emirates Cycling Tour” competitions organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and its fourth stage was launched today in Dubai with the participation of 137 cyclists representing 20 international teams, as part of the fifth edition of the global sporting event. His Highness, accompanied by His Excellency Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Chief of Protocol, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, followed the contestants as they passed the Marmoum area within the course of this stage, which extends over a distance of 174 kilometers, wishing success to all participants.
The starting point for the fourth stage of the circumnavigation came from the historical Shindagha neighborhood, passing through a number of the most important tourist attractions and residential and commercial areas in Dubai, as well as the Al Qudra area, Dubai Expo City and the Palm Island, to conclude the competitions of this stage in Dubai Harbor.
The UAE Cycling Tour began in Abu Dhabi on February 20, and is scheduled to end next Sunday, with the end of the seventh and final stage of the Tour, with a total of 1,028 kilometers.
