Egypt Increases Liquefied Gas Exports

Media In / Agencies 02-01-2019

Egypt is currently exporting 520 million cubic feet per day of LNG through the Edco Liquefaction Complex, compared to 300 million cubic feet per day in early 2018, an official with Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources said.
“We are currently exporting LNG out of 520 million cubic feet per day through the Edco Sewage Complex,” the official told Reuters by telephone on condition of anonymity.
“Export is for Malaysia’s Petronas, Shell, the General Petroleum Corporation and Egypt’s EGAS.”
Egypt is seeking to transform itself into a major energy hub in the region through gas liquefaction and re-export, after it stopped importing gas at the end of last year.
