1.15 million visitors to Dubai exhibitions in 2022, a growth of 66% 36,500 exhibiting companies, a growth of 53%

During the past year, Dubai witnessed a strong economic and commercial movement, driven by the momentum of the events and exhibitions that were held on the emirate’s land, which coincided with the organization of the largest event in the region, “Expo 2020 Dubai”.

The number of visitors to Dubai World Trade Center exhibitions in 2022 increased by a strong rate of 66% to 1.15 million visitors, compared to the year before 2021, when the number of visitors to exhibitions reached more than 690,000, according to Dubai Statistics Center data.

The number of exhibiting companies in the center’s activities increased by 53% to 36,551 companies, compared to 23,852 companies in 2021, and the number of exhibitions increased to 77, compared to 54, and the number of other activities increased, which include: brand sales exhibitions, product launch presentations, Fashion shows, festivals, concerts, sporting events, theatrical events, special events, 12% to 46 events, compared to 41 events in 2021, as those events were attended in 2022 by approximately 615 thousand, while the number of delegates to meetings and conferences reached about 47 thousand.

This comes after the year 2022 witnessed the return of Dubai’s economy to pre-pandemic levels, and the Dubai World Trade Center had a major role in driving economic momentum in the emirate, by hosting an integrated agenda of activities in the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions sector, and welcoming a record number of international visitors. The center also contributed to setting new standards for the events sector, as well as effectively supporting the business system.

For the Dubai World Trade Center, the past year was an opportunity to reorient the event sector’s compass to pre-pandemic levels, as exhibitions returned to their usual location and the center continued to move forward, driven by great momentum through many events, including the Gitex Global exhibition, which achieved unparalleled success, In a remarkable achievement confirming the return of urban activities to their previous era.

The activities of the last quarter only included 79 events, which recorded an increase in the number of visitors in all fields. The Dubai World Trade Center expects the momentum to continue during 2023. Indeed, the beginning of the year witnessed a series of events covering a range of sectors, which contributes to the consolidation of Dubai’s position as one of the best destinations for the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions sector in the world.
