$ 1.2 billion in tourism revenues in the first quarter

Preliminary data released by the Central Bank showed that the Kingdom’s income from tourism income increased in the first quarter and last March.
Tourism income rose by 29.5 percent in March from 2018 to reach 441.2 million dollars (312.8 million dinars).
The central bank said in a statement on Tuesday that the rise was mainly due to an increase of 28.7 percent in the number of tourists compared to March 2017.
During the first quarter of this year, tourism income rose by 14.6 percent to 1.2 billion dollars to about 834.8 million dinars.
The increase was mainly due to the increase in the total number of tourists by 14.3 percent compared to the same period of 2017.
