1.7 billion dirhams, revenues of Abu Dhabi hotels in the first quarter, with a growth of 34%, welcomed 1.18 million guests

Hotels in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi welcomed 1.18 million guests in the first quarter of 2023, a growth of 34% compared to the same period last year, according to the statistics of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.

According to statistics, the emirate’s hotels achieved revenues of 1.7 billion dirhams in the first quarter of 2023, a growth of 28% compared to the same period last year, and hotels recorded an average occupancy rate of 74%, a decline of 5% compared to the same period in 2022.

The average number of nights spent by residents of the emirate was 2.8 nights, a decrease of 22% compared to the same period last year. The average value of one hotel night was 468 dirhams, a growth of 33% compared to the same period last year, while hotel night revenues increased to 346 dirhams, a 27% increase.

Emirati inmates topped the list of the most prominent nationalities of inmates in terms of number in the first three months of this year, with 236,000 inmates, followed by Indian inmates with 123,000 inmates, the United Kingdom 54,000 inmates, Russia 48,000 inmates, Egypt 41,000 inmates, and the Philippines 35,000 inmates. The United States of America has 35,000 inmates, Saudi Arabia has 30,000 inmates, Israel has 26,000 inmates, and Pakistan has 24,000 inmates.

March

The number of guests in Abu Dhabi hotels last March reached 408,000 guests, a growth of 13% compared to March 2022.

Hotels recorded an average hotel room occupancy rate of 72%, a decrease of 5% compared to the same month in March 2022. The average number of nights spent by guests of hotels in the emirate was 2.8 nights.

The average spending of one hotel night in the emirate was 434 dirhams in March, a growth rate of 16% compared to March 2022, while each hotel room achieved an average return of 314 dirhams for one night, a growth of 10%, and hotels achieved revenues of 545 million dirhams in March, a growth of 10%.

Inmates from the UAE topped the list of nationalities of inmates last March, followed by inmates from India, Russia, Britain, Egypt, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, the United States of America, China, Germany and Israel.
