10.7% Growth in the index of the exports unit in Abu Dhabi

The value of the unit of exports in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi increased during the third quarter of 2018 by 10.7% compared to the same quarter of 2017.
Figures released by the Abu Dhabi Center for Statistics showed a rise in the index to 88.3% in the period from July to the end of September of this year compared to 79.8% in the same period last year.
The index of the unit of imports declined in the third quarter of 2018 by 4.8% compared to the same quarter of 2017, from 111.8% to 106.3%.
It is noteworthy that the UAE is one of the countries that established its position on the global trade map and remained as the most important market for exports and imports of goods at the level of countries in the region.
The UAE has succeeded in enhancing its commercial role globally over the past years and it is expected according to the Abu Dhabi Statistics Center that the coming period will witness growth and prosperity at all levels, including trade in both commodity and service sectors.
Abu Dhabi’s exports and imports represent an important component of the economic movement. The economic development of the emirate has attracted a great deal of interest from the political leadership and government plans to achieve progress and development.
