100,000 Bahraini visitors to the UAE 2022, a growth of 33%

Abdullah bin Touq Al-Marri, Minister of Economy, met with Fatima bint Jaafar Al-Serafi, Bahraini Minister of Tourism, to discuss strengthening cooperation in joint tourism fields and activities during the next stage, and mechanisms to support sustainable tourism development on the sidelines of the Travel Market Exhibition.

The number of Bahraini visitors to the UAE reached about 100,000 in 2022, with a growth rate of 33% compared to 75,000 visitors in 2021, and the number of flights between the UAE and Bahrain reached 60 flights per week via the national airlines of the two countries.
Bin Touq stressed that the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain have deep fraternal relations and close historical ties, and the state is keen, thanks to the directives of its wise leadership, to enhance cooperation in various tourism fields with brotherly countries and open new horizons for constructive cooperation, especially since Arab tourism is characterized by unique tourism elements that vary in scope. Between the heritage, natural and archaeological elements, and promising investment opportunities.

Bin Touq discussed with the Bahraini Minister of Tourism supporting bilateral cooperation in developing tourism products, exchanging statistics and data, and diversifying tourism and promotional programmes, in a way that enhances the increase in the exchange of tourist delegations between the two countries, and in a way that supports the growth and sustainability of the tourism sector in the two brotherly countries.

The two sides agreed to coordinate joint work during the coming period with regard to choosing the capital of tourism in the Gulf, especially since the Kingdom of Bahrain recently submitted a request to become the capital of tourism in the Gulf for the year 2024 along with the Emirati city of Al-Ain, and the two sides were keen to exchange benefits and experiences on yacht tourism and marine tourism.
