1360 new investors in the Abu Dhabi Securities Market during the first quarter of 2019

The number of investors in the Abu Dhabi Securities Market increased by 41.6% during the first quarter of 2019 compared to the same period of 2018. The market reached 1360 new investors, including 1250 individuals and 110 institutions, against 979 new investors during the first quarter of 2018, of which 846 individuals and 133 institutions, bringing the total number of investors with the closing on March 31 to about 968,381 investors.
The number of UAE investors increased by 76.5% and Arab investors by 12.9%. The value of trading during the first quarter of 2019 reached AED 12 billion compared to AED 9 billion in the same period of 2018, an increase of 32.5%.
Mr. Abdul Aziz Al Nuaimi, Assistant General Manager of the Market, said in a lecture organized by the Council Affairs Office of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, in coordination with the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), which was hosted by the Salem Bin Lootih Al Ameri Council in Al Ain, entitled “Safe Investment in Financial Markets”. Community outreach with investors in the stock markets in various social sectors in order to raise awareness of the importance of saving towards the best means of investment to ensure a secure and profitable returns.
Al Naimi added that the Abu Dhabi market has recently adopted a strategic initiative aimed at developing investment awareness by introducing investors to the investment opportunities available in our financial markets, as well as identifying the most important challenges facing the process of investing in local stocks and ways to overcome them by identifying the most important mechanisms and financial systems in place And listed companies in the local financial markets.
