16% Growth of institutions in Saudi Arabia during 2018

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Commerce and Investment confirmed the growth of total institutions by 16% in 2018 to (945,278) compared to 2017, and the limited liability companies increased by 11.4% during 2018 to 109,036 companies compared to 2017.
The ministry explained that this growth comes in line with the reforms and improvements that the business sector has undergone during the past period and the procedures to facilitate the start of business activity which the ministry has worked with in cooperation with a number of related parties. The existing records of the joint stock companies increased in the year 2018 to 5.9% 2017 m.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is represented by 39% of the companies in Riyadh, followed by Makkah with 25%, the Eastern Province with 19%, the Madinah Region with 4% and the Qassim Region with 3% In the Kingdom.
In Riyadh, 28% are concentrated in Riyadh, 23% in Makkah, 15% in Eastern Province, 7% in Qassim and 5% in Asir.
The Ministry of Trade and Investment has implemented a number of reforms and improvements to the business environment to facilitate the start of business, enabling the establishment of companies in 30 minutes, and provided 61 services electronically, and expanded in the customer service centers model of the concept of comprehensive employee.
