AED 2.65 billion in hotel revenues in Abu Dhabi in 6 months

The value of hotel income in Abu Dhabi reached AED 2.65 billion during the first half of 2018, boosted by an increase in the number of guests and overnight stays.
The number of guests rose to 2.4 million guests and nights to 6.3 million nights, raising the occupancy rate to 71%.
The growth witnessed by hotel activities in the emirate, hotels and hotel apartments coincided with an increase in the number of rooms in the sector, which reached 32665 rooms by the end of the first half of this year, according to figures released today by the Abu Dhabi Statistics Center.
The figures show that the number of hotel rooms in Abu Dhabi increased despite the decline in the number of hotel establishments to 168 in the first half of this year compared with 173 in the same period of 2017.
In terms of nationality of the hotel establishments in the emirate by nationality, it was noticed that the number of guests of the US or North American nationality increased by 18.2% followed by European citizenship campaigns by 17.6%, Africa excluding Arab countries 12.4% and non-Arab Asia by 11.3% The growth of guests from the Arab countries 11.1% and 5% registered for the benefit of inmates of the Gulf nationality.
The European citizenship campaign was the most in terms of average length of stay, which amounted to 3.9 nights of US citizenship by 3.13 night and Africa non-Arab countries 2.92 nights while the stay of stay of Arab citizens from 2.6 nights.
