The Japanese capital Tokyo on Monday will host a large delegation of 40 people representing 16 government and semi-government entities and a number of private sector companies led by the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIH), the Abu Dhabi Economic Development Department (ADB), in its 2018 program. HE Saif Mohammed Al Hajri, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development Abu Dhabi stressed the keenness of the Government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to unify the efforts of all concerned parties to attract direct investments to the emirate by participating in such visits and programs focused on promoting the investment opportunities enjoyed by Abu Dhabi in the implementation of many development projects In various economic sectors.

Al Hajeri added that the efforts of the Abu Dhabi government to attract more foreign investments during the past years resulted in a rise in foreign direct investment in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi for the year 2017 to 108 billion dirhams compared to 100 billion dirhams in 2016 growth rate of 7.1%.

He said that Japan is one of the most important international partners of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the UAE in general. The value of Japanese investments in Abu Dhabi by the end of 2017 amounted to about $ 661 million.

The delegation of government agencies in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to the Japanese capital Tokyo include Abu Dhabi International Market, Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, Media Zone Authority, Abu Dhabi Airports Company, Energy Department, Abu Dhabi Chamber, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Urban Planning Department, Municipalities, Mubadala, Etihad Airways, Aldar Properties, Abu Dhabi Ports Company General Holding Company, Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, Mubadala, and the General Establishment of Al Ain Zoo.

The delegation will also hold a series of bilateral meetings with Japanese investors and businessmen to inform them of the most important investment opportunities being implemented by the Government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in a number of economic sectors.
