“42 Abu Dhabi” hosts 400 Emirati students to explore their potential as programmers

Abu Dhabi, January 14: School 42 Abu Dhabi, the innovative programming school in Abu Dhabi, has cooperated with the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority to host 400 Emirati high school students on the school campus, with the aim of enabling them to explore their potential as future programmers in the emirate.
The event allowed students to learn about the school’s advanced educational model, which aims to create a diverse and comprehensive educational infrastructure that contributes to empowering future human cadres.
The event came as part of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority’s computer science and mathematics development track, which was launched by the Authority within the framework of the early preparation program in line with its efforts to invest in young Emirati talents who will contribute to making a significant impact on the efforts towards digital transformation in the emirate.
The event included a session during which the students were provided with in-depth knowledge about computational thinking, algorithms, abstraction, pattern recognition and problem-solving techniques, which form the basis of computer science and other fields and professions.

Following the session, the students took an online problem-solving assessment, designed to help them identify their interests in computational thinking and computer science.
After completing the challenge, the students toured the innovative school building, and learned more about the peer education methodology adopted by School 42 Abu Dhabi, which supports young talents to enable them to develop innovative solutions and contribute to accelerating the emirate’s digital economy. The event also allowed them to learn about the interactive skills acquired by programmers at School 42 Abu Dhabi, which enhance their ability to occupy leadership positions in digital fields, such as collaboration, adaptation, innovation and critical thinking skills.
Marcus Müller-Happig, Acting CEO of School 42 Abu Dhabi, said: “We are pleased to support the early preparation program of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority by hosting 400 Emirati students who seek to start their educational career in the fields of science and technology, which are among the fields of increasing importance in the future development process in the Emirate. Abu Dhabi”.
She added, “The event gave us the opportunity to highlight the pioneering role of School 42 Abu Dhabi as a talent incubator that seeks to raise the level of skills and develop them among young Emirati cadres in the fields of programming.”
He stressed that the school’s participation in this initiative is in line with our strategic vision to enhance the capabilities of Emirati youth and enable local talents to continue their professional careers specialized in vital sectors and establish a society that enables everyone to learn programming.
School 42 Abu Dhabi is part of the global 42 network, and was established in Abu Dhabi in cooperation with the Department of Education and Knowledge in order to provide the most innovative programming and software development programs in the world.
The school has evolved into a center that inspires future generations to become programmers distinguished by their ability to shape the world through technology.
The Early Preparation Program of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority seeks to discover talented Emirati youth and provide them with the guidance and support necessary to shape their academic and professional future.

This program is the first stage of the agency’s scholarship program, which sponsors qualified students to enter prestigious universities worldwide.
