5.731 million passengers through Sharjah airport in the first half

Sharjah Airport registered a growth of 4.34 per cent in passenger traffic during the first half of this year, with more than 5,731 million passengers, up from 5.493 million in the same period of 2017, as a result of the development of services provided by both passengers and airlines. Sharjah Airport handled 2.851 million passengers during the second quarter of this year, growing by 3.59 percent compared to the same period last year, with 966.4 thousand passengers in April, 937.45 thousand in May and 947.2 thousand in June. The regular and irregular aircraft traffic during the first half recorded more than 38,800 air traffic, an increase of 3.83 percent. In terms of air cargo traffic, Sharjah Airport registered more than 64.73 thousand tons. The volume of air cargo during the period January to the end of June registered a record growth of 19 percent compared to the same period last year.
