6 international companies qualified to tender the wind project in southern Jordan

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources authorized six international companies to implement the project of producing wind power by 50 megawatts within the projects of the third round of direct offers.
The list of companies that have technically qualified for the tender include the Diamond Holding Power Group, the World Power Alliance (RB), the Wessam Green Power, the Casar Energy and the Touch Alliance.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Eng. Hala Zwati said in a press statement on Monday that the ministry will soon consider the financial offers of the six companies to choose the best bidder to raise the contribution of wind energy in the total energy mix to 667 MW of the total renewable energy currently produced. Of electricity generated in the Kingdom, including projects to reduce consumption through net measurement and energy transit.
Regarding the bids for the third round of the sun, Minister Zwati said that the ministry has invited the two companies with the best arrangement to negotiate their project agreements with 100 megawatts for the first-ranking company and 50 MW for the second-ranking company, in preparation for signing these agreements duly.
The renewable capacity of renewable energy projects under construction, development and implementation in 2021 is about 1,270 megawatts, bringing the combined capacity of renewable power plants to 20 percent of the total electricity generated in the same year, and achieving the energy strategy target of 2025.
The combined generation capacity of renewable energy projects by the end of 2018 is about 1130 MW and is expected to rise to 2,400 MW by 2021.
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced the beginning of December 2016 for the third round of direct offers for renewable energy projects.
