UAE Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri held a wide-ranging meeting with the ambassadors of 10 countries of the Latin American and Caribbean Group (LAC), during which he discussed the areas of cooperation and means of developing them in a number of vital sectors that serve the development interests of both sides.
The meeting reviewed existing aspects of cooperation, trade opportunities, volume of investment and prospects for development, focusing on priority sectors, notably air transport, logistics, agriculture, food security, Halal industry, renewable energy, tourism
The meeting included ambassadors and consuls of Mexico, Panama, Brazil, Chile, Dominican Republic, Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru and Uruguay.
Al Mansouri said that the UAE enjoys excellent relations with the Group of Latin American and Caribbean countries, which are based on cooperation and respect for common interests, pointing to the importance of trade opportunities and investment capabilities enjoyed by the two parties. .
He added that the areas of aviation, freight forwarding and logistics services are sectors that need to be developed in the framework of their joint cooperation because they have a direct impact on bringing the two markets closer and facilitating the movement of trade and investment. The agricultural sector of food crops and animal wealth is one of the priority sectors. A map of the UAE’s investments abroad, which the state is working on developing and diversifying its markets to serve food security policies. He pointed out that developing cooperation in this field will meet the food needs not only in the domestic markets of the country but also in the Region by taking advantage of the location of the UAE as a major trading hub in Al Muntqa.
