7.5 billion dirhams of federal franchise fees for “&e” and “du” during 2022

Abu Dhabi, March 7 / The companies “e&” and Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company “du” paid about 7.515 billion dirhams, the value of the federal franchise fees during the past year 2022, an increase of 8.5%, or the equivalent of 591 million dirhams, compared to 6.924 billion dirhams that were paid in 2021.
And according to the monitoring of the Emirates News Agency “WAM”, based on the financial results announced by the two companies on the financial market websites, the value of the federal franchise paid by the “e&” group in the period from January to December 2022 amounted to 5.771 billion dirhams, an increase of 4.14%, or the equivalent. 229.3 million dirhams, compared to 5.542 billion dirhams in 2021.
While Du paid about 1.744 billion dirhams in the value of federal franchise fees during the past year 2022, an increase of 26.2%, or the equivalent of 362 million dirhams, compared to 1.382 billion dirhams in 2021.
The total value of franchise fees paid by “&e” and “du” in the period from 2012 to 2022 amounted to about 82.08 billion dirhams, distributed by 64.27 billion dirhams for “A&” and 17.783 billion dirhams for “du”.
And the two companies announced at the beginning of the year 2022 that they had received a statement from the Ministry of Finance that the federal franchise fees, which will apply for the years 2022 to 2024, will be without any changes in the fees applied during the period from 2017 to 2021.
The two companies pay a franchise fee of 15% of the regulated revenues in the UAE, and 30% of the profits from the regulated services after deducting the franchise fee of 15% of the regulated revenues in the country.
