The total number of industrial licenses issued in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi during the past year reached 37 licenses, a growth rate of 85% compared with 2016, according to the annual report of the industrial development movement in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi issued by the Industrial Development Bureau of the Department of Economic Development. The total investment value of the new licenses was estimated at AED 6.4 billion distributed over 29 factories in Abu Dhabi, 6 in Al Ain and two in Al Dhafra area.

The index of the conversion of industrial licenses under construction to production increased by 85% by converting 37 licenses to production status during the year 2017 compared to about 20 licenses in 2016.
The number of renewed industrial licenses increased by 5.2% during the year 2017, with a renewal of 684 licenses in 2017 compared to 650 in 2016. The Renewed Industrial Renewals Index (RDI) was up 11.6% with a renewal of 287 licenses in 2017. About 257 licenses in 2016.
