Dubai’s foreign trade with Russia has witnessed rapid growth in the past few years as the value of trade exchange between the two sides increased from AED 5.50 billion in 2016 to reach AED 7.38 billion in 2017, a growth of 37%.
The value of Dubai’s foreign trade with Russia increased in 2018 to 9.21 billion dirhams, a growth of 25% compared to 2017, which shows that the value of trade exchange between the two parties achieved during the two years from 2016 to 2018 by about 67% and Dubai’s foreign trade with Russia in The first half of 2019 is about AED 4.55 billion.
Statistics released by Dubai Customs on the occasion of the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the UAE showed that the most important goods in the trade between Dubai and Russia are diamonds, gold, phones, cigar and auto parts.
Ahmed Mahboob Musabeh, Director General of Dubai Customs, said: “ Dubai’s trade with Russia is gaining importance in light of the continuous development in the economic and trade relations between the UAE and the Russian Federation. Mahboob explained that Dubai Customs monitors the great development witnessed by the Russian economy and the opening of new opportunities to increase economic and trade cooperation between the UAE and the Republic of Russia by taking advantage of the depth of relations and strong ties between the two friendly countries and we are working to remove any obstacles facing the development of trade exchange with Russia through field work With traders and Russian companies and to identify all their requirements of facilities and customs services to provide them with high quality contribute to increase their trade with Dubai.
