9.9% growth in the Abu Dhabi Construction Price Index during the first quarter

The construction price index in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi reached 103.5% during the first quarter of this year, an increase of 9.9% compared to the first quarter of 2017, according to figures released by the Abu Dhabi Statistics Center. Construction costs rose by 5.6% in the first quarter of this year compared with the fourth quarter of 2017. The index of construction costs is one of the statistical indicators that is an important component of planning and research in various fields. Figures from the Census Bureau show that the labor force was the most important group that contributed to a rise in the rate of construction costs during the first quarter of 2018, which increased by 19.9% ​​compared to the fourth quarter of the previous year. The prices of services included in the construction group’s list increased by 15.9% while the increase in construction materials amounted to 9.9%, about 3% in mechanical and air conditioning and 1.1% in equipment prices.
