Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Executive Council Member of Abu Dhabi, today opened Taweelah Aluminum Extrusion Company (TALEX), the region’s newest aluminum extrusion plant and the first aluminum extrusion project in the industrial city of Kizad in Abu Dhabi to become a branch of the national economy.
TALEX, a joint venture between General Holding Company, one of the largest holding companies in the field of industrial investment in the United Arab Emirates and Gulf Al Gharib, a subsidiary of Al Ghurair Group, was established with an investment of $ 240 million to develop and upgrade the aluminum extrusion sector. The Middle East region and support the wheel of growth and expand the horizon of industrial investments of the capital Abu Dhabi.
The plant, which covers an area of 200,000 square meters and an annual production capacity of 50 thousand tons per year of aluminum and 45,000 tons of aluminum alloys, is intended to meet the needs of the regional and global markets and in response to the high demand for aluminum products in the global markets for construction, .
“The launch of Taweelah Aluminum Extrusion Company aims to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s strategy to develop the industrial sector in line with the economic diversification plan and to enhance the competitiveness of the UAE market for industrial products,” said Ali Morshed Al Marar, Chairman of TALEX.
He added that the company’s ability to implement innovative operating systems that have succeeded in enhancing the efficiency of the process of manufacturing aluminum materials is a conclusive evidence of the industrial and technological progress achieved by the UAE in recent years. He pointed out that the timing of the opening is ideal in the period of rising demand for aluminum Where the next phase will be active and promising for the company.
