Australian Arab Chamber of Commerce discusses cooperation with Fujairah Chamber

The Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry discussed during a meeting with a delegation from the Australian Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry ways and areas of cooperation between the two sides.
Khalifa Khamees Mattar Al Kaabi, Chairman of Fujairah Chamber, said during his meeting with the delegation headed by Roland Jabbour, President of the Australian Arab Chamber, to enhance cooperation and coordination of efforts with the Australian Arab Chamber, pointing out that the meeting is a positive step towards enhancing bilateral relations.
Khalifa Al-Kaabi pointed out that Fujairah has trade relations with Australia, where trade volume reached 232 million dirhams last year, noting that there are 12 Australian companies operating in Fujairah in the fields of safety engineering, fire protection, repair and maintenance of aircraft, ship supply services and construction contracting.
During the meeting, Khalid Al Jassim, Director General of Fujairah Chamber, gave a presentation on the characteristics of investment in the Emirate of Fujairah, noting that it is witnessing developments in the field of modernization of infrastructure and upgrading of industrial, tourist and service facilities. For the storage and export of oil, especially as it is the second largest centers in the world in the supply of ships refueling.
Al-Jassem said the emirate’s unique geographic location outside the Strait of Hormuz has made it a major hub for East-West trade and could be an outlet for Australian companies’ products for the region’s markets.
Al-Jassim noted that the strategic location of the Emirate of Fujairah plays a pivotal role in the implementation of the UAE’s food security strategy, where there is a strategic food storage facility in the port of Fujairah with 20 storage units with a capacity of 275,000 metric tons.
The delegation included 17 members of the Chamber, businessmen and representatives of commercial companies working in the sectors of food products, cereals, animal feed, education, training, electronic security, medicine, health care, tourism, mining, meat, livestock, real estate investment and human resources.
The meeting was attended by members of the Board of Directors of the Fujairah Chamber, representatives of local departments in the emirate, business owners and professors.
