According to the Airport Council International (ACI) World, the aviation sector in the UAE is expected to attain AED323.6 billion ($88.1 billion) by 2030, Last year the sector contributed 15 percent to the country’s GDP.
The expected increase comes as Airport Council International (ACI) revealed Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport is rated 19th internationally in terms of volume handled.
Once completed, it is expected to become the largest airport in the world with a capacity of up to 160 million passengers and 12 million tonnes of air freight volume annually. There are seven intentional airports welcoming over 100 million passengers annually in the UAE.
