Billion and 360 million dirhams for the development of roads leading to exhibition “Expo 2020”

Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has established the first and second phases of the project to develop the road network to the Expo and include the development of Jebel Ali Road to Lahab and its intersection with Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and the implementation of bridges on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road to serve traffic to and from the Expo 2020 site at a cost of 360 billion AED.
This comes in response to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to start immediately the implementation of road projects and transportation systems related to meeting the requirements of hosting Dubai Expo 2020 to ensure the smooth traffic that serves visitors to the exhibition and service Future projects in the region.
Mr. Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), said that the development of the road network leading to the Expo is one of the largest road projects currently being implemented by the Authority to meet the requirements of hosting the Expo Expo 2020. Due to the size of the project, The time period set and well before the opening of the Expo.
