Conclusion of the World Business Forum for Latin American Countries in Panama

The third edition of the World Latin American Business Forum in Panama concluded with calls from senior government and private sector leaders in the UAE and Latin American and Caribbean countries to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the forum to investors from both regions and to promote cooperation and trade and investment partnerships in the coming period.
The forum attracted 800 participants from 50 countries, including heads of state, ministers, senior government officials, decision-makers, policy makers and business leaders. On the sidelines of the forum, 300 bilateral meetings were held between investors from the UAE and their Latin American and Caribbean counterparts.
The Forum, organized by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank and the Economist Events, which manages the forum’s content, held 17 meetings and 46 speakers. Speakers included President Juan Carlos Varela of the Republic of Panama and President Juvenel Moyes of the Republic of Panama. Haiti, His Excellency Isabelle St Malo, Vice President and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Panama, HE Eng. Mohammed Ahmed Bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy for Economic Affairs, Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hamad Buamim, Me and a number of ministers and senior government leaders and officials and businessmen from the UAE, Panama, Haiti, the United States of America, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
Commenting on the success of the forum, Hamad Buamim, Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “The third edition of the World Latin American Business Forum has achieved its objectives in exploring opportunities and prospects for cooperation between the Arab Gulf and Latin America and the Caribbean regions and has succeeded in creating an effective dialogue platform between the two business communities of both sides And paved the way for a long-term partnership, “he said, pointing out that the organization of the forum in Panama for the first time outside the UAE was a right choice given the benefits that resulted from this step because it showed the commitment of the private sector in the UAE to invest in Latin markets and demand The business community in Latin America was recognized as a positive sign of Dubai’s growing confidence as a preferred investment destination for Latin American companies. “
