At a cost of AED 1.3 billion Second expansion of Jebel Ali Sewage Treatment Plant

Dubai Municipality has completed the second phase of the expansion of Jebel Ali sewage treatment plant at a cost of 1.3 billion dirhams and a capacity of 375,000 cubic meters of water for this stage to reach the capacity of Worsan and Jebel with a total capacity of one million cubic meters.
“The current expansion of Jebel Ali is one of the important infrastructure projects for the coming years to keep pace with Dubai’s comprehensive growth in all areas to cover Dubai 100 per cent,” said Eng. Daoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality.
He explained that this expansion will cover the area of ​​Expo and other areas of development and accommodate the continued and future population growth and high efficiency.
He pointed out that this expansion reduces energy consumption by 25 per cent and will result in about 232 billion cubic meters of water treated irrigation suitable to international standards.
Engineer Fahed Al Awadhi, Director of Drainage and Irrigation Projects, said that the project deals with the first part of water treatment and the second with the treatment of solid materials, including the civil works from the drilling and casting of concrete and insulation with the submission of construction plans and delivery of materials along with electromechanical works and installation of equipment.
Al Awadi added that the project will absorb the excess flow from the areas of Expo and other areas and will cover the existing urban projects in the region and future projects in the Emirate and will convert the proportion of the load from the station of Worsan to Jebel Ali station.
