Dubai Center for the Development of Islamic economy organises dialogue in Spain to discuss prospects of developing Islamic Finance and digital integration

The Dubai Center for the Development of Islamic Economy organized a series of dialogue meetings in Spain to discuss the prospects of developing Islamic finance, creative economy and digital integration in various sectors of the Islamic economy in line with the decisions of the World Summit on Islamic Economics hosted by Dubai last October.

The first round table meeting was organized at the IE Business School in Madrid, where he discussed in two consecutive sessions the Islamic digital economy, tourism opportunities and intra-Halal trade as Dubai is a global center for Halal trade and a global capital for the Islamic economy.

The meeting of the city of Córdoba in the Arab House of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain held two panel discussions on the exchange of experiences and knowledge of success stories in Halal tourism and innovation projects and the second on promoting tourism by promoting awareness of Islamic heritage and the development of Islamic architecture and landscaping projects.

The Executive Director of the Dubai Islamic Economic Development Center (DEDC) said today that the seventh round of the World Economic Summit will be held in Spain to discuss with the Spanish government the enormous potential and opportunities offered by Islamic products and derivatives to the future of the global economy.

He added that the prospects for the Islamic economy are expanding globally, especially in Spain, which is very interested in its development. The launch of Cordoba Foundation for the aspiring to establish a reference role on the European continent a few years ago is one of the manifestations of this interest. He stressed the Center’s keenness to expand its partnerships with various actors around the world to introduce the opportunities of the Islamic economy.

In his keynote address to the meeting in Córdoba, Spain, the Deputy Executive Director of Strategic Affairs at the Dubai Center for the Development of Islamic Economy said today, “Today we have a broad understanding of the essence of the Halal industry and its recognition as a synonym for high quality, This understanding and clear vision were important factors in establishing the Center and achieving great success, most notably the contribution of the Islamic economy to 8.3 per cent of GDP.
