Du and Nokia are Collaborating to Test the NR Technology for the Fifth Generation Networks

MediaIn – Dubai, February 28, 2018

Du, a subsidiary of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, has announced its collaboration with Nokia to conduct live beta testing for the new non-independent NR 5-generation radio technology compliant with 3GPP standards in selected areas in the UAE.

The new tests will be conducted by the two companies in a live network to achieve a load speed of up to 5 GPS. This rate of high productivity and low latency will contribute to enhanced broadband for industrial applications and new usage situations such as enhanced reality, virtual reality, e-health, machine-to-machine (M2M) connectivity, critical and emergency communication to provide more new services and applications, many cases of use that were not previously possible.

The aim of this collaboration is to test and test the products available and equipped for Nokia’s fifth generation networks, including its AirScale radio platform, Massive MIMO and 3GPP standards, and to take advantage of the latest Nokia chipsets recently launched by Reef Shark to modernize Du’s network and enhance its readiness for future V-generation technology.
