Media In – Dubai – 2 September 2018 / WAM /

The Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) will start implementing the “Day of Commitment to Trade” initiative to educate the business community on their rights and duties and to establish rules of compliance without imposing any financial irregularities or penalties. The work team in the sector of commercial control and consumer protection will educate shop owners and traders on the need to comply, and notify them of violations and ways to avoid them in the future. Through this initiative, Dubai’s economy aims to maintain the status of the local market and thus push the commercial outlets to develop and excel in service delivery, thereby enhancing the sustainability of the business in Dubai. The Commercial Commitment Day initiative will ensure a culture of commitment and business awareness at the business level by visiting various commercial outlets in Dubai and educating the business community about their rights and obligations. Abdullah Al Shehhi, Deputy CEO of Commercial Control and Consumer Protection, said: “Dubai is seeking to build an integrated relationship in the local market and to strengthen the relationship between the trader and the consumer, not to impose fines and financial irregularities. He said that encouraging businesses to adhere to the laws and regulations in place at the level of the UAE is achieving excellence and high quality of service provided to customers, and contributes to the happiness of traders and their confidence in the business and investment in the Emirate of Dubai and the UAE in general.
