Dubai to host world’s first aviation investment summit

 Dubai will host the world’s first aviation industry summit on January 28-29, with the participation of representatives of the world’s top 500 companies, along with leading asset managers, investors, aircraft manufacturers, carriers, leasing, maintenance and logistics services for the aviation sector. The summit comes at a time when the region’s aviation sector is growing at a record pace. The summit will be attended by high-level delegations from 40 countries, including 20 airline representatives, 10 industry experts, 200 financial and aviation officials and more than 300 key investors in the sector for a two-day exchange of ideas from January 28 to 29. The UAE currently invests AED 85 billion in the development and expansion of its airports to increase its capacity to more than 300 million passengers a year, including AED 30 billion in investments to develop Al Maktoum International Airport, AED 28 billion for Phase 6 of Dubai International Airport expansions and AED 25 billion to develop And the expansion of Abu Dhabi International Airport as AED 1.5 billion is being invested at Sharjah International Airport. Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, General Manager of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, said: “This summit is of great interest to the UAE. We have a proud role in the aviation sector, which had a modest start a few decades ago. Today we are one of the most dynamic and vital sectors in the world. It is ranked among the most prestigious and influential members of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
