The Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) sets a new record of 69,183 open options

The Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) today announced a new record of open volume / Open Interest / Oman Futures contract of 69,183 contracts on 31 May 2018.
The new figure, which is equivalent to about 69.2 million barrels of crude oil, exceeds the previous record of May 31, 2017, at 68,470.
This new record underscores the confidence the DME has gained among the various stakeholders in the market from all over the world who conduct crude oil trading from buying and hedging in complete safety across the DME platform.
More than 100 participants participate in the DME pricing process through the most active trading window in the region’s commodity markets.
Ahmed Sharaf, Chairman of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange, said: “This index demonstrates the strong confidence of the DME and highlights the steady growth witnessed in recent years and confirms Oman Oman’s forward contract from the bourse as the most reliable tool for risk management and discovery.
