“Economy” honors the winners of the “Generations of Cooperative”

The Ministry of Economy honored the winners of the “Ajyal Co-operative” award in its ninth session and honored the winners and sponsors since its launch 10 years ago at a special ceremony organized by the Department of Cooperatives at the Intercontinental Festival City Hotel in Dubai.

The ceremony was attended by Hamid Bin Butti Al Muhairi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Commercial Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Economy and Said Mubarak bin Amr, Director of Cooperatives Department in the Ministry and a number of ministry officials and representatives of government and educational institutions participating in the award and a number of cooperative societies in the country.

The “Ajyal Co-operative” Award is one of the outstanding initiatives launched in 2009 to promote social action with the participation of all segments of the society and to focus on the students to enhance the value of cooperation and deepen the concept of social responsibility through a number of awareness and practical activities, “As an economic activity that they manage and supervise themselves and apply in practice the principles of cooperative economy.

The award includes a number of categories, most notably the Best Social Development Officer, the Cooperative Society Award, the Cooperative Activity, and the Best Innovative Media and Literacy Product. The participants were also recently expanded to include new student groups from the rehabilitation centers of the owners. The category of the best cooperative and cooperative award for the owners of the task, in order to prepare a generation capable of practicing cooperative work with its various economic, social and cultural objectives.

Hamid bin Butti Al Muhairi stressed that the cooperative sector is an important pillar in supporting the balance of the state markets, activating the movement of wholesale and retail trade and enhancing the contribution of society in the development process.

He pointed out that the UAE has a remarkable experience in this regard, as it has succeeded in developing its capabilities in this field by acquiring a strong and effective cooperative sector. The number of cooperative societies in the country is 40, 19 of them are consumers and 13 are fishermen.

He pointed out that the Ajyal Cooperative Initiative aims to consolidate the culture of cooperative work in the younger generations, thus enhancing the efforts of the state and serving its development orientations.

For his part, Saeed Mubarak bin Amr said that this celebration is the culmination of the continuous and joint efforts between the Ministry of Economy and its various partners concerned from the governmental and private sectors, educational and academic institutions and others through the “Generations Cooperative” initiative, which has produced more than 200 cooperative leaders since its inception. They have the largest role in raising the awareness of more than 20 thousand students at the state level to be cooperative leaders and able in the near future to participate actively and positively in the development of the national economy.

The film featured a film about the achievements of the Ajyal Co-operative initiative and its three main divisions – the Ajyal Cooperative Award, the Summer Training Program in the Cooperative Education Program and the Young Ambassadors Forum. The film also reviewed the goals and vision of the initiative. The ceremony also witnessed a number of other paragraphs that contribute to the promotion of cooperative work, including the exhibition accompanying the award, in which a group of participating schools presented examples of student work and innovations related to cooperative activities.

The winners of the award were honored by the winners of the ninth class of students and schools. This year, 31 schools attended primary and secondary schools, and 3 centers for the owners of the center are Al Amal Center for the Deaf, Ajman Center for Owners, The UAE has also honored the initiators of the initiative since its launch, representing a number of institutions, most notably the Ministry of Community Development, the Ministry of Education, the National Union School and a number of associations. The supporting institutions of Bani Yas, Abu Dhabi, Emirates, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Abu Dhabi Cooperative for fishermen, in addition to participating in the award schools.
