His Excellency Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, discussed investment opportunities and new trade partnerships with HE Dr. Koh Bo Kun, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry in Singapore and Algerian Trade Minister Saeed Jalab.
The two meetings were attended by Engineer Mohammed Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al Shehhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy for Economic Affairs, Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and HE Juma Mohammed Al Kait, Assistant Undersecretary for Foreign Trade at the Ministry.
Al-Mansouri’s meeting with Singapore’s Senior Minister of Commerce and Industry witnessed a consensus on the importance of opening up to foreign markets and providing a supportive and encouraging business environment for foreign companies and investments because of their direct impact on enhancing the competitiveness of the economic climate and supporting development requirements.
Al-Mansouri said that the UAE and Singapore are linked in many ways, especially in economic terms. The two countries have succeeded in becoming an international trading hub and a global destination for finance, business and tourism supported by strategic geographical location, as well as a sophisticated and flexible infrastructure and legislation. His Excellency stressed the importance of continuing joint efforts to diversify the base of economic and trade cooperation and opening up markets to investors from both sides, especially in sectors of mutual interest in the food, halal, transportation, tourism and aviation industries, with the importance of cooperation in studying the best possible mechanisms for exchanging experiences in the fields of innovation, In order to meet the requirements of the development process, pointing out that in view of the civil aviation sector, we find that the number of passengers through the airports of the country registered more than 120 million passengers, which is expected to be doubled during the The future stage of the completion of large projects in the infrastructure of airports within the state, and therefore there is a need to move proactively to study ways to employ tools of artificial intelligence and robotic technology and other advanced technologies on various processes and stages of services provided to transport passengers or goods to ensure the competitiveness of this vital sector, The same applies to various other service activities.
