Egypt begins drilling of wells in the West Delta region of the Mediterranean Sea

The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum announced the start of the drilling of wells in the project of gas production phase B “in the West Delta deep in the Mediterranean Sea next month as part of the ongoing work program for the development of discovered fields and the development of new gas wells on the map of production to contribute to secure part of the needs of the local market of Egypt Power supply.
The report, which was reviewed by Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tariq al-Mulla, on the position of the gas production project in the ninth stage “B” in the West Delta deep in the Mediterranean Sea, which explained that the drilling rig “NGT1” B “in the region to begin drilling operations in accordance with the work program of the project, which includes the drilling of 10 wells with 8 productive wells and two exploratory wells and start drilling operations with an exploratory well.
The report added that it is planned to launch the first gas production from the first three wells of the project phase IX B “financial year 2018/2019 and the rest of the wells will be placed in 2019, marking the completion of the project in its entirety, which cost the investment to about 807 million dollars It is implemented by the Egyptian Petroleum Sector and Shell International.
